Supporting and assisting the needy Cancer patients...

CRAB – Cancer Remedy Assistance Bureau – is a Kerala government registered Charitable organisation (Travancore – Cochin Charitable Societies Registration Act, 1995). We are a group constituted by professionals from all walks of life that are powerhouses of experience and knowledge. Our patrons include former Governor of Mizoram, Trivandrum MP, retired High Court Judges etc.

Cancer – abruptly diagnosed – can instantly impose an economic burden on you and your family, especially if you are in a lower income category. Impending costs for treatments including surgery and medication can keep increasing.

CRAB, launched in 2019, has various programmes to provide aid in the form of one-time monetary support where financial support may be needed. The monetary grants / assistance CRAB will be able to offer will vary greatly depending on individuals’ need and expenses.

CRAB provides transportation, some medications for treating side effects, and childcare costs to cancer patients in need of those services.

Added to these, if treatment is recommended at some location far away from home, travel and accommodation costs too can be a pain. Regarding accommodation, our emphasis is on providing a nurturing, home-like environment that is conducive to healing.

CRAB envisage to engage a coalition of financial assistance organizations joining forces to help cancer patients experience better health and well-being by limiting financial challenges, through educating patients and providers about existing resources and advocating on behalf of patients.

For the needy patients, CRAB also plans to maintain a database of resources based on diagnosis, type of aid (like accommodation, treatment expenses, prosthetics) and location.
